Final Evaluation

Evaluation for unit Locating  This unit has encouraged me to work out of my comfort zone and under pressure. I am amazed by the number of projects I have done during this unit which includes the following; Engineering embroidery Fashion | Form | Fabrication Manchester' Multi-Language Mushaira! CP2 It was challenging for me to work for 4 projects all at the same time, I think the key to handling such workload for me was organising the time.  During the engineering embroidery, I had decided to work in a completely different way to create 3-dimensional sample pieces instead of making plain fabric samples. I have realised from my last unit 'intention' that I don't enjoy creating traditional patterns. Therefore, in this unit, my aim was to create 2D and 3D samples. Also, I have learned in the 'engineering embroidery' that I like creating movements of 3D pieces along with the fabric. I think I have really played around with dif...

Mushaira Project   by Alice Kettle and Emma Martin  This is the project, which I have done during the FFF. I have done this project in collaboration with Alice Kettle. I have spoken to her about the project, she told us about the school kids and the crew who are the Creative Crew at Stanley Grove Primary Academy.  They are working with Manchester Library Service, Manchester Metropolitan University, the University of Manchester, four poets, two artists, the Whitworth Art Gallery, schools across Manchester.  It was a pleasure working with Alice Kettle, she has given the complete freedom to choose our own theme for the tent decoration.  At the beginning of this project, I went to the Abakhan. There I have found some kids fabrics to get some inspiration, then I have asked my 9-year-old sister what she would like to see in the tent. She gave me some ideas about having something fluffy, lightning and bright colours in the tent.  ...

Fashion | Foam | Fabrication 'Exhibition'

Exhibition  For the final exhibition, I was not able to print any actual 3D printed piece , but I have tried to visualise my 3D pieces on the 360 fusion as shown below; visualisation of 3D design on CAD I was not happy with this visualisation because it was not exactly showing the idea of my character’s characteristics, which was based on the weather winter. Therefore, my tutor suggested me to exhibit crystal cones with resin and actual ice on the exhibition.   However, I have tried to make resin and ice cones by trapping the materials like threads to show the winter colour theme as shown below; Temporary | Frozen  Inspired by the White witch from the movie ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’, I have explored the evilness, selfishness, an emotionless and heartless character of the witch. By experimenting with crystal shapes which are pointy and dangerous but beautiful at the same time, I explored the duality of good versus evil.  Also, the ...
