Research and visualisation Theme: Beauty of fat cells For this project, I have been given the brief of 'engineering embroidery'. In this project, I wanted to construct something which creates the expression of touch and sense - something that might have texture and a bit of 3D touch. After visiting Manchester Gallery, design centre and Manchester - I didn't find something new or attracting which I really I wanted to work on. Therefore I have started to look around books and websites. Then I started to look into scientific microscopic photography of cells. I have looked into blood cells, cancer cells, white blood cells and fat cells. By looking into the microscopic images, I have found a microscopic photographer called Steve Gschmeissner, who uses a scanning electron microscope (SEM) for microscopic images.
